Spring

I am soooo happy that spring has arrived. I thought it had arrived last week but then we got this blast of snow Saturday night and woke up to a Winter Wonderland Sunday morning. It was gorgeous. The higher temperatures though returned on Monday and so far it has been a gorgeous week.

Tomorrow my dad is having open heart surgery so if you do read this please pray for our family tomorrow. This is all very sudden and we are still in shock to a degree. Please pray for the doctors and nurses and all of us tomorrow.

I will post some updates on our spring break at Granny and PawPaw's soon.

Tag!

So a friend of mine has tagged me. I know I haven't written in awhile but thought this would be a fun post!! Hope you guys enjoy!!

Question 1: Where were you five years ago?

Five years ago it was 2005.

1. In May of 2005 I graduated college with my teaching degree.
2. Earlier that year in March I was the co-chair of the Texas Clogger's Rally with my friend Carmen! We had fun planning that but it was also hard as we were both in our last semester of school.
3. In September of 2005 I officially started my first year of teaching.

Question 2: What is (was) on your to-do list today?

1. I had to first get my butt out of bed. It was hard with it being a Monday morning.
2. Pack Jeff's lunch! We are trying to save money and be healthier so I'm trying to be the good wife and make his lunch every day for him!
3. Head to work and have a meeting first off to meet the parent's of a new student!
4. After school meeting till 5 at least.
5. Pick up my precious baby and head home and make dinner!!!

Question 3: What five snacks do you enjoy?

1. String Cheese- on this kick right now for this!
2. Special K Pastry Bars- taste like poptarts but are much better for you!
3. Fruit
4. Can't think of anything else right now!

Question 4: What five places have you lived?

1. Parent's House- loved growing up there and love going "home" often!
2. Dorms at Midwestern. Had a great dorm room there and actually it was big for a dorm room!

3. Apartment in Fort Worth while going to school. I really enjoyed having my own independence there!
4. Duplex in Sherman once I got my first job! Was nice to be close to my parent's but in my own place!
5. My first "Home" that I have owned! I love my house and the fact that it is mine and Jeff's! We still have lots we would like to do to it and we will get there eventually! I love that we have a pool and a backyard in the city! My most unfavorite thing is our HOA!!!

Question 5: What five things would you do if you were a billionaire?

1. First I would pay off all of our debt and our family's debts.
2. Build my dream house on lots of land away from everything!
3. Build my parent's dream house. My mom could probably tell you down to the color of paint what she would love to have!
4. Travel with my family while being a stay at home mom!!!

5. Make sure that my children, neieces, and nephews all had the oppurtunity to go to college. Education is very important to me!
6. Most importantly I would give back to God. He has blessed me beyond measure.

I hope you have enjoyed my answers! I am going to tag people but please do not feel obligated to do this!

My Snow Baby

When we were in Colorado there was a playground about a block and a half from the house we were staying at. We decided to all go take Alexa to play in the snow on Monday afternoon. This is a pic of us holding her hands so that she could get used to the snow/ice!

When we got there Auntie decided to show Alexa how to make snow angels. Alexa really didn't get the concept!

Auntie and Alexa talking!!

Alexa didn't understand that she needed to hold on to the sled, so Papaw had to hold her up while daddy pulled her!!!

The snow was pretty deep!

Auntie decided to get on the sled with Alexa and Jeff had trouble pulling them both!! Don't think the sled was made for a 21 year old!!!

I absolutely love this picture even though Alexa is made at Auntie for putting her gloves back on! She looks happy!

Alexa and Mommy swinging!

Alexa had lots of trouble trying to stand up!!!

She has an issue with things being on her head! Never wants to keep them on!!

Going down the slide with Daddy. Her and Auntie went down earlier and it resulted in Auntie in the splits!!

Alexa and Daddy walking in the snow! That was hard for her!!

This is the name of the playground. We had a great time playing in the snow that day! I think Alexa is going to love the snow as much as we do for our week that we are there!!!

Christmas 2009

This year we had a blast at Christmas. Alexa is old enough this year to have fun opening and helping open everyone elses presents. We started the weekend before Christmas with Christmas with the Medford's. They all came in Saturday morning. Alexa helped pass out presents and we had a blast. Her grandma and grandpa got her a Little People Nativity set that she has had so much fun playing with! I thought it was the cutest thing! Jeff and I got some movies and games that we had been wanting! Jeff got me a new digital camera because ours had crapped out this summer and we had been borrowing my moms. I absolutely love my camera! It is the Samsung where you can see yourself on the front for the self portrait! I got Jeff a Blue-ray player and he was happy! Here are a few pictures from that weekend.

Christmas Eve we headed up to my parent's for Christmas day. It had started snowing so we left earlier than we had planned and go there in time for my lil sis and I to go and do a little very last minute shopping. Jason and Crystal came over for dinner that night and then left promising to be there early Christmas morning to open presents!

Christmas morning Alexa slept until 7!! We were all very excited. Jason and Crystal showed up around 8:30 and we all started opening presents. We made a deal that mom would open her present first because we knew she would want to use it. Daddy bought her the new camera that she has been wanting for sooo long. She took over 200 pictures just that morning I think! She loves her new camera and had fun using it. She was truely surprised. We all starting opening then and all loved our presents. Mom and I had gone shopping and got AnnMarie a pair of Uggs and when she opened the box she had two right feet and they were two different styles. Mom was pretty upset but AnnMarie was cool with it! I got a new pair of "Expensive" sunglasses which is good for me! I have never spent over $20 on sunglasses! Alexa cleaned up in the clothes department and toys. Granny and Papa got her a basket filled with balls. She has loved it! It was great spending Christmas day with my family. I missed it last year! Here are a few more pictures of Christmas day.

Ski Trip 2009

The day after Christmas we loaded the van and headed on our annual family ski trip to Leadville, Colorado. This was going to be Alexa's very first trip in the car for that long (17 + hours). A lot of the people in the van were worried about this including her daddy. We left Sherman at 5 am and I was driving. We had gotten quite a bit of snow on Christmas Eve with most of it being west of us and had been warned of very bad roads. I drove as far as I felt comfortable and then mom took over in Saint Jo. We finally made it to Wichita Falls where we eat breakfast at 8:3o when we should have been there by 7. Very long trip but mom did a great job driving that part. We got breakfast and headed to Papaws house since he was snowed in! Dad, Kyle, and Mike ended up shoveling Papaws driveway and then we headed to Aunt Angela's and shoveled hers too! They were all very appreciative. When we left Wichita Daddy drove because we knew the roads were worse. We had 22 miles to get to Electra where we were told the roads were clear. It took us 1 1/2 hours to go that 22 miles and then bam clear roads! We saw over 150 cars in the ditch that morning! After that we had completely clear roads and eneded up stopping in Pueblo, Colorado for the night since we were so far behind schedule! Sunday we got to Leadville and everyone but me suited up to go to the mountain to ski half a day. I stayed at the house with Alexa and Jeff that day. Jeff, Alexa, and I did the grocery shopping so mom didn't have to that night and she seemed grateful for that!

Sunday night everyone pretty much crashed after dinner so no games were played. Monday we were going to take Alexa to the daycare in town but daddy ended up not skiing that day so she stayed with him and Jeff at the house. Daddy and Alexa dropped me, Mom, AnnMArie, Kyle and Mike off at the mountain and then went back to the house. We had a great time skiing and the guys and Alexa came back up the mountain and brought us lunch. AnnMarie and Kyle got pretty brave Monday and did some crazy black runs that we normally only do with Daddy there to make sure we make it down!!

Monday night at the house we played Jeff's new Star Trek Monopoly game that he got for Christmas. AnnMarie ended up winning and is still the chamption. Tuesday morning we all got up and daddy again didn't go skiing so Alexa got lucky and spent the day with Papa and her daddy! Jeff was sick so he wasn't even able to go snowmobiling. They again dropped us off at the mountain and then came for lunch. I fell on Tuesday pretty good and hurt my arm. I didn't ski too much after that but really enjoyed when I did ski. The weather was great this year. It would have been nice to have a little more snow.

Tuesday night after dinner we played Farkle and UNO. Those are always two fun games with our family! It is always nice to have family games when we go skiing! Wednesday morning we got up and got all packed and headed back to Texas. We like stopping in Amarillo to eat at the Big Texan but never like the wait so this year we got smart and made reservations. We made it back to Sherman at about 1:30 and Jeff, Alexa, and I went ahead and drove home to McKinney that night! It was one of those we are ready to be back in our own bed!!!

We had an awesome trip and Alexa did pretty well for such a long drive. She would only get fussy when she didn't want to go to sleep in the car. I'm ready for her to be able to go and learn to ski. She has to wait until she is 3 for that and then we will get her private lessons that year and then the next year she will be in Panda Patrol!!! I am going to add some pictures here at the end for your enjoyment!

White Christmas

Well it started snowing on Christmas Eve pretty hard around 4 or so and snowed all the way till 9. This morning we all woke up to a very white Christmas!! Today has been a great day so far. We got up and Jason and Crystal made it over to my parent's about 8:30 and we all started opening up our presents. I think mom was very surprised by her new camera. Alexa seemed to want to open everyone's presents but her own. She then wanted to get in all the boxes. She absolutely loved the big laundry basket filled with balls that her Granny and Papa got her! I will post pictures sometime when we get home from Colorado. We are supposed to leave tomorrow morning at 5 am! This will be Alexa's first trip and it's a very long drive. I hope all goes good!

Merry Christmas!!! Happy Birthday Jesus!!
